The Cleveland Rams started in 1936 as a member of the American Football League, joined the NFL a year later, and were assigned in Western Division. The team was marked by frequent moves in the beginning, playing in three different stadiums over several losing seasons. Due to player shortage, the team sat out the 1943 season and resumed in 1944. The team finally won a year later, achieving a 9-1 record and grabbed their first NFL championship.

Waterfield and Norm Van Brocklin led the Rams to three consecutive Western Division Championships in 1949-1951. The Rams won the National Football League crown in 1951, defeating the Cleveland Browns 24-17. A 73-yard pass from Van Brocklin to Tom Fears sealed the victory over the Browns. Wide receiver Elroy Hirsch led the league that season by scoring 17 touchdowns and 1,495 yards.

The Rams is still on the edge of rebuilding the team since it was broken up. The offensive line will definitely improve with an off-season given by the offensive coordinator. The St. Louis Rams may had the worst season since 1991 finishing 3-13 and fourth in the NFC West division last season, but the Rams are aiming to emerge as a contender on the West, especially with Steven Jackson, Troy Holt and Marc Bulger are back on the team.

As you can remember, the Rams won just four games a decade ago before their Super Bowl championship season. Last season they won just three games and hit rock bottom, but the Rams will definitely step up their game. The 2008 season will be dedicated to their longtime owner Georgia Frontier who passed away this year. Buy your St. Louis Rams ticket now and watch as the Rams rise up again at Edward Jones Dome.
